Cold Crab at Ah Hoi

A dinner to celebrate my mum-in-law's birthday took place on the 5th October. at the venue mentioned below

Lee Kui (Ah Hoi) Restaurant
08/09/10 Mosque St Singapore 059488Tel : 6222-3654

I forgot to take some shots as I was fairly late and was rushing all the way there. One should know the consequences from the the wife when you are late for her mother's dinner ... when I sat down, the food was served and I just ate and chatted with everyone happily.

We had the cold crab, the all time favourite and chef's recommendation. This dish is rather interesting, the crab's meat can be seen to have detached itself from the shell, so you dont require much effort to eat the soft meat and its roe. We had 3 crabs of med size, costing $39, not expensive.

The rest of the dishes were as good, the deep fried prawn balls, noodles and all. The only dish I find too expensive was the desert, yam paste with ginko nuts, costs $20 for a small size that filled only half of 6 small bowls.

Wow. Another good recommendation. What's the total damage for the party?

There are 6 of us in total, and we ordered the cold crab, steamed fish in sauce, oyster omelete, deep fried prawn balls, stir fried vegetables, noodles and the yam paste for desert, damage was $160.
