Axe the X-Files movie

If you have not watched X-Files - The Movie, I would recommend you skip it, unless you are a die hard fan of Mulder and Scully. The movie is merely a longer version of a single TV episode and hence the pace of the movie is more draggy and to compound this, the plot is skimpy at best and the two leads have visibly aged. My friend Kenny rated it half a star. Couldn't agree more.

Dinner with my friend Titus

I knew Titus way back in civil engineering school. I think that was in year 2, so that was 1998. Titus was always a better engineer than I was. While I was struggling with making sense of shear force diagram and moment distribution, he was already well ahead of me, trying to understand the concept and twiddling with the calculations in a way that I never could have achieved.
It is therefore fitting that upon graduation, he joined a design firm. No, nothing to do with fashion design or interior design. In civil engineering talk, a design firm comprises engineers who carry out calculations and hence 'design' the dimensions of the beams and columns and the steel bars within the concrete that will hold up the structure/ building. I am also very happy for him to hear that he is well on the way to getting his Professional Engineer certification.
I am very thankful for his friendship because in our final year examinations, we studied together and if not for him, I may not have passed my examinations, not to even think about scraping by with an honours degree.
After graduation, this was the third time we met, not counting the time when he asked me to be his best man for his wedding.
We had an enjoyable dinner and catching up because nothing is happier than to see a good friend, and a good man, succeed in life.
